How to convert your birthday date into Roman numerals

Roman numerals are built from a small set of letters, each with a fixed value.
To convert a number, you choose the right letters and place them together to match the value you need.
I = 1
V = 5
X = 10
L = 50
C = 100
D = 500
M = 1000
When letters are placed from larger to smaller, you add them. For example, XVI is 10 + 5 + 1, so it equals 16.
When a smaller letter is placed before a larger one, you subtract it to avoid repeating the same symbol too many times. For example, IV is 5 minus 1, so it equals 4, and XC is 100 minus 10, so it equals 90.
To convert a birthday, the date is handled in three parts: day, month, and year. Each part is converted into Roman numerals using the same rules, then the three results are joined together in your chosen format. For example, 15 March 1985 becomes XV-III-MCMLXXXV.

Subtractive notation
